Finally writing another post! Mostly about baby stuff!

So it has been awhile since I last posted anything. But I think I might try to start writing a bit more again. But no promises! Haha

Life never slows down. And the minute I think it might, I usually get thrown a curve ball.
Right now we are expecting our third boy, due on July 15. I'm 31 weeks and starting to get tired again, and have those crazy pregnant lady dreams... Sooo we will have three boys two and under for a month... But seriously we are so excited!

It has been a bit different going through the health care system up here. Its different from the states and yet a lot the same.

Here are a few of the differences(At least in my experience). First you see your family doctor and then he refers you to a maternity clinic. I had the option of having the baby in Calgary or High River. High River is a small town about half hour south of here. Under high recommendations from Kim(the pastors wife), who has had all three of her babies down there, I decided to go to High River. They have a Mat Clinic right in the hospital, and over all the experience has been really positive with all the doctors and mid-wives. But there are a few things that are a bit different, at least at this clinic. First of all when you have your appointment, you give a urine sample, pretty standard. But at this one, you check it yourself... I was a bit surprised by this at first. You get your sample, and then take it to one of the rooms, where the have test strips you dip into the sample and then place in this machine which checks all your levels, and prints out the results on this receipt looking thing. Then you check your own weight, write it down on the receipt, and give the receipt and sample to the nurse. From there everything has been about usual.
The other different experience I have had was getting my ultra sound done. First of all they want you to drink a liter of water. The nurse at the Mat clinic told me I didn't have to actually drink that much you just have to go in on a full bladder. I don't remember having to do that before. They also have it at a separate clinic that just does ultra sounds and x-rays. Now in the states for all my ultra sounds they take you and your spouse back in the room lay you down and then just have you pull your shirt up over your belly and maybe push your pants a little lower.
At this place I checked in, and had a seat. Then they called me back and asked Daniel to wait in the waiting room. They took me back to these changing stalls with curtains across the the front, asked me to undress and put this gown on... wait a minute what am I have done again?!? So I do that, and then wait until they call my name again. At this point I am dying to go to the bathroom and trying to figure out how I'm going to hold it while I have to get this thing pushed all round on my belly while they measure the baby. I finally get called back and then they bring Daniel into the room, and we get to see our baby. Which is awesome! He was very busy so it took her a while to measure everything. I actually got to go empty my bladder and then go back to see if the baby would move a certain way so she could get the final measurement. I was pretty happy about that! Everything looked great! That is always wonderful news! Then I got to get dressed and go pick up the pic of the baby at the front.

Overall it has been a good experience so far! I am very much starting to look forward to having the labor and delivery over and getting to settle in with our new little one though!

Well I don't want to write a book, so I will save some of the other things going on for my next blog!
